Sustainable mindset in every action

We aim to achieve carbon neutrality in our operations (Scope 1 & 2) by 2030, powered by renewable energy, efficient technologies, and smarter, data-driven decisions with a sustainability mindset and care for the planet.
Find out more in our ESG report.

How do we deliver it?

Renewable Energy

Run all equipment on 100% renewable energy (electricity and HVO100) to cut direct emissions.

Verified Data Framework

Implement a unified ESG data system to enable transparent and accurate collection, verification, and reporting of ESG data.

Employee Awareness

Equip employees with training and tools so they include sustainability in daily decisions.

Neutralize Residual Emissions

Remove remaining emissions through high-quality, independently verified carbon removals.

Sustainable vehicle fleet

Electrifying our fleet
In 2024, we invested NOK 91 million in electric ground support equipment in Norway, making 57% of our global fleet electric. Technical and infrastructure hurdles remain, but we convert the highest-utilization units first and press airports to expand charging to accelerate electrification.
100% Green turnarounds
We've been doing green turnarounds since 2021, when we performed our first all-electric turnarounds for Ryanair and Norwegian at Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. In 2023 we completed the first all-electric turnaround for Lufthansa at Gothenburg-Landvetter Airport. It is becoming the usual part of our day-to-day operations.
Fossil-free fuel
We see HVO100 as a strong and reliable complement to electric ground support equipment. In 2024, 56% of our fleet operated on HVO100 – a fossil-free fuel that reduces CO₂e emissions by 80–90% and supports our rapid transition toward a low-emission future.

Biodiversity, resource use, and circular economy

Lounges
As part of our biodiversity efforts, we’ve shifted menus toward plant-based choices, strengthened local sourcing, and raised organic options to over 40% of products. Food waste is down 7% toward a 10% goal, and we also use recyclable or compostable packaging.
Chemical management
In 2025, we expanded our partnership with EcoOnline across all countries, enhancing inventory control, risk assessment, and environmental impact tracking.

Making our stations green

Sweden
Gothenburg and Malmo have run all facilities and vehicles on fossil-free energy since 2023. Building on that model, Stockholm-Arlanda surged in 2024 — earning the Lufthansa Group’s Sustainability Award after delivering 100% fossil-free turnarounds on renewable energy and operating a 60% electric GSE fleet. Scope 1–2 emissions fell 92% year on year.
Norway
Bardufoss, Bergen, and Tromso switched to 100% renewable electricity in 2024.
Denmark
In 2025, our Copenhagen station transitioned to sourcing 100% renewable energy.
Group
We reached 75% renewable energy usage across our 15 stations during Q1–Q3 2025.

The Mashimoni children centre

At Aviator, we are committed to social sustainability and ethics externally. Since 2016, Aviator has proudly supported the Mashimoni Children Center in Kenya, helping to provide education, resources, and opportunities for children in need.

Mashimoni donation
At the Ground Handling International Conference in Barcelona in 2024 and then again in Amsterdam in 2025, we replaced traditional giveaways with a donation to fund classroom construction, empowering Mashimoni's mission to nurture young minds. In 2023, our contributions included covering school fees for 59 children and four university students, organizing a memorable trip to an amusement park, and ensuring a self-sufficient water supply for the center. Aviator remains dedicated to fostering growth and hope for the Mashimoni community.
